Local police officers waste time nabbing minor speeders

What is wrong with this picture? We have truck drivers speeding through traffic lights at U.S. 17 intersections with apparent impunity, while our deputies are moonlighting for overtime pay giving speeding tickets to people driving 56 mph on 45 mph secondary roads.

Since it is impractical to build all intersections to prevent conflicts, how about we remove dangerous drivers who cause conflicts before they cause tragedies like the one that happened May 15 in Hartwood ["Collision claims two lives," May 16]?

Please apply some of your resources to monitoring high-risk intersections and vigorously apply appropriate punishment to those who recklessly endangers others. Get the potential murderers off the road.
